Chad M was built to fish lobster. 40 years later, she was found by Covey Island (the builder) in Eastport, Maine. The crew at Covey Island stripped her back to the bones and rebuilt her to her original condition. Repowered with a Yanmar 110 HP turbo diesel, she is no speed demon, but cruises at 8 knots all day long, and barely consumes any fuel at all. Chad was renamed Orion for a number of years but has since gone back to her original name of Chad M out of respect for the original owner. No longer fishing, Chad spends most of her retirement commuting between Lunenburg and the island of East Ironbound.
