The 86′ BERYL E, a cannery tender, was built for Ketchikan’s Sunny Point Packing Co. in 1925 at Port Blakely, Bainbridge Island, in Washington State. Launched from the J.C. Johnson Shipyard, BERYL E was one of three identical tenders built at the Johnson yard that year – including AMELIE (Petersburg Alaska) and TROJAN (reportedly sank off Yakutat in the mid 1960’s).
BERYL E is in good design company as some of the most well-known and elegant west coast yachts of that era were designed by Ted Geary, including THEA FOSS, BLUE PETER, and MALIBU. Ann and Guy purchased BERYL E in 1990 and continue to operate the vessel as a fish tender in Alaska, a job BERYL E has performed every salmon season since 1925.

Looking good 🙂
