7' Oughtred Feather Pram (1999) - TEER

A Feather Pram – 40lb Ian Oughtred designed wood dinghy. Towing an inflatable behind Marionette up in Maine resulted in many pleas – “can’t you get her a decent dinghy?”. So, I went to the John Gardner boat building school at Mystic Seaport, graduated, and found a design that I could build in Marionette’s barn. Small enough so she could fit on the foredeck if necessary, light enough so I could lift her on the roof of my wagon, and pretty enough to get compliments. I showed her off at the Wooden Boat show and Ian was there too – he liked her. Marionette was happy.
