    Kewpie is a wooden Herreshoff 12 1/2 that had been retired and become completely rotten after a long sailing career. In 2008 I started rebuilding Kewpie as a solo project undertaken in free moments in my backyard. After 12 years of work, I launched Kewpie in September 2019. Only a few original pieces of wood fashioned at the Herreshoff yard in 1935 remain, but Kewpie is true to the original design and materials. She sails beautifully, which I consider much better than watching her biodegrade.
