This is Dragon sailboat originally designed by Johan Anker that I have made for myself as a daysailer.
Somehow a copy of Classic Boat magazine fell into my hands with a story about a J-class and I was in love. I become a compulsive reader of CB trying to find a sailboat that will satisfy my conditions and desires. Of course I did not have a lot of money. My project started in 2008 when I found a Dragon. It was a perfect size sailboat for me and it was the hull shape that I wanted so badly.
The story of building this boat is far too long to tell in such a small space but I can say it lasted for four years and I had to make mostly everything by hand and by myself. I started by laminating frames and ended with connecting all the electrical wiring.
It is a nice small sailboat for two people that looks and sails fantastic.

I owned a wooden Dragon and competed in the Edinburgh Cup in England in ‘69 when the Dragon was the 3 man Olympic keelboat. Fabulous racing boat but never tried to cruise on it as it was kitted out as a racer. I love this boat so beautifully finished. Northern Croatia is a wonderful cruising ground, did it 4 years ago.
I would like to meet you someday on the Adriatic. Pašman is the place where I spend a lot of time. In one word; BEAUTIFUL!
Well done, you have built a beauty
