Owner’s Description
Anne was originally commissioned as a family cruiser, and for her entire life she’s sailed the waters from Penobscot to Frenchman’s Bay. We are third in a short line of stewards devoted to her care, but Eaton’s Boat Yard has been in charge of her maintenance since she was built – 3 generations of family yard owners have launched and hauled her every year, refastened her cedar planks – replacing stainless ring nails with bronze screws about 25 years ago. She has white oak frames and timbers, fiberglass decks, sitka spruce spars, and spanish cedar combings, house and hatches. Below in the cabin, she has decent head room in the galley thanks to the stepped house, and lots of light coming from large fixed ports. There are quarter berths in the main saloon and v berths along with the head and a locker port side forward. She is a joy to sail, well balanced, comfortable, and as well suited to handle the afternoon chop that blows up in Penobscot Bay as she is at ghosting along on a light air morning in Smith’s Cove. We hope for many more years of enjoyment and exploration, cruising the coast of Maine…
