The largest all-wood Herreshoff. “The first yacht of any consequence built to the Universal Rule” according to L. Francis Herreshoff. She is being restored by Snediker Yacht Restoration. She has metal hanging knees rather than a sheer clamp. She also has unusual (and unique) inner frames that Herreshoff called web frames or belt frames. Both these features are visible in the dilapidated photo. Formerly ASTARTE, HUNTRESS, and VAYU. Planking is complete and fairing has started!

On invitation from Dave S I have visited her several times. She will be quite spectacular when done. The thing I find fascinating is she built very much like my little 12 1/2. Lyle Russell
Absolutely beautiful, and the restoration looks impeccable. I look forward to seeing photos of her sailing again. So glad she was rescued from a dreadful condition.
