11' Brown Nesting Dinghy (2018) - PT-11

The PT Eleven is the nesting dinghy that we always wanted. Russell’s design encompasses his ideal in a rowing and sailing dinghy that is lightweight but strong, nests compactly and can be assembled in the water quickly. Dropping anchor and launching the dinghy within minutes to go exploring gives us so much joy.
In 2010, we began developing this design as a CNC pre-cut kit boat. By 2017 & 5 prototypes later, we had developed a kit package we really felt good about. Logistics and limited capacity in our little barn of a shop caused us to reconsider our business model and we thought about stopping production altogether. Customer and would-be customer support encouraged us to find a solution. In 2021, after producing more than 150 custom PT 11 kits, we partnered with Chesapeake Light Craft to take over the heavy lifting of kit production. We remain involved in various aspects of production but now Russell is able to experiment with new projects and work on some additional books long promised to follow his other how-to books and OCH videos.
