Built in Tasmania of Tasmanian blue gum keel, diagonal planked Huon Pine hull construction with mahogany coach house and mahogany and Huon pine internal fit-out. Powered by a 6 cylinder 120 HP Perkins diesel, hydraulically connected to a Hundested variable pitched propellor and cruises at 7.5 knots.

Solquest (Latin for follow the sun) starred in the SBS TV series Gourmet Farmer Afloat. A 10 one hour episodes series aired throughout the world showcasing the cuisine of the early settlers in the island state of Tasmania.

Solquest saved the day in the dramatic rescue of the classic 8-meter wooden boat Varg on her first race day during a wooden boat rally when a white squall hit the D’Entrecasteau Channel Tasmania with 70-knot winds.
