Owner’s Description
The Sedgwick Sailing Peapod is a smaller version of the Old Sailing Peapod documented in Chapelle’s book, “American Small Sailing Craft”, which were originally 15′-3″ and built of heavy lapstrake construction with a single sprit rig or sometimes a gaff main with headsails. This was an old lobstering “pod” built in the late 1880s. She has a very moderate deadrise and a full round bilge. She is a stable, seaworthy rowing boat. she is strip planked with 3/8″ bead-and-cove cypress and the entire hull is put together with WEST SYSTEM G/Flex for strength and weight control. Harmony moves through the water effortlessly and acceleration is quite impressive under sail, and tracks without veering. She is finely shaped, rows quick and sails sweet. She is nimble, seakindly and stable.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
