In my summers as an adolescent I attended Culver Academy, there they had a fleet of Chris Crafts, that memory inspired me to build a replica of those classic runabouts. I found a design on Glen-L website, after a few trips to the Les Cheneaux Antique and Wooden Boat Show I decided to modified the design to add an engine compartment amidships. It took nine winters to build, my summers are too busy sailing! I bought all my mahogany upfront, which proved to be a motivator each time I saw the pile of wood to keep building. It proved to have secondary benefit, the price of mahogany tripled over the years it took to build the boat! Every time we take her out we get compliments and have won a few parade awards.
