BATEIRA, is a small traditional fishing boat in of the lagoon of Ria de Aveiro. The little wood Bateira is still today the moats common boat used for artisanal fishing in the lagoon “Ria de Aveiro” waters, where small ocean fishes varieties populate. The boat can take one or two fisherman. Other secondary uses where given to Bateria, like hunting called “bateira cacadeira”, people transport called “auxiliar local”, or margin vegetation collection for animal feeding called “bateira erveira”. Built in pine tree wood. Could use sail, rows, or recently outboard small motor.
