Our 1959 Glasspar G3, “G Whiz”, was shown at the International Antique and Classic Boat Show in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho on September 15-19, 2021 where it was awarded “Boat of the Year Non-Wood” and Platinum Winner for “Outboard with Steering”.
In 2011, we were notified of a free G3 in Seattle, but we needed to pick it up that day or it was headed for the dump. The notification said ” A project, some cracks in the gel coat, sagging front deck, rotten floor, needs seats, motor, instruments, steering wheel, etc. You need this boat!” We picked up the boat and restored it over a one-year period. The G3 has been used on Lake Oswego, Ponderay, Coeur d’ Alene and Priest Lake. We get lots of comments from people who had a Glasspar, wanted a Glasspar or skied behind a friend’s Glasspar. We are very pleased with our “free” boat!

She’s a beauty! I just love the shiny old ‘Merc’.
There no such thing as a “free” boat!
Nice work Dick!
