Owner’s Description
“Mi Amor” was found in Wenatchee, Washington 32 years ago when I was on a search for a 1964 Century Resorter that I had always wanted since I was a kid. In our neck of the woods Century’s were king as the local dealer was a a major dealer for Century boats in the early 60’s and Resorters at that time were the hot rod boat in our bay. For certain it caught this nine year olds attention. As good fortune would have it the previous owner stewed around a bit and then presented a book with all the original papers on the boat when signing off the title. In the book it showed that Mi Amor was originally purchased from Toblers Marina on Hayden Lake, Idaho on Christmas Eve as a Christmas gift for the original owner’s family.
On spotting the paperwork and seeing the original photos I realized that I had walked by this boat many times as a kid on the way out to the end of the docks to go to my Grandpa Chipmans 1954 Resorter named “Nancy”. That information immediately locked in our relationship and it has been a good one ever since.
Mi Amor has been kept on Priest Lake for many years and is used frequently whether taking kids out to tube, skiing for myself or social hour floating out in the middle of Priest Lake in the evening alpine glow.
My wife Anavel is from Peru and is “My Love” thus “Mi Amor” seemed like a very appropriate name for our boat.
While some folks are surprised I have had Mi Amor for 32 years the reality is I am planning to have another 32 years together with her out on our inland lakes of Northern Idaho!
