Owner’s Description
1966 32’ Pearson Vanguard sloop: purchased from Isletta Marina in Fajardo Puerto Rico where it had been abandoned by owner. We totally refitted the boat, sailed for several winter vacations with three kids before sailing it to home to Nova Scotia. It’s legendary sailing capabilities were proven through three days of nasty weather, halfway between St Tomas and Bermuda. Delfin11, steered perfectly by the Raymarine auto pilot, powered by an Airex wind gen, didn’t deviate at all. 25 to 35’ seas came from all quarters. It was my first passage, accompanied by a mainlander who had never seen the ocean. We stayed dry and comfortable in the big open cockpit and actually relaxed after the first day or so. On any day sailing our home Chester Basin I will hear across the water from a “normal” sailboat…looking good!Already a member? Log in herePhotos
