Owner’s Description
We found Goblin on Dream Boat Harbor. She is an 18′ Fenwick Williams 1931 catboat design, cedar on oak. Built in 1987 at the Apprenticeshop in Rockport, ME for the then small boat curator at Mystic Seaport, she was modified several years later, including inboard engine installation and a downsized rig, and then refurbished, including a self-draining cockpit, years later. Goblin is now cared for by East Passage Boatwrights in Bristol, RI, and she is a fine example of a comfortable small cruising catboat. She now sails on Narragansett Bay in RI, and after a brisk sail, we had the honor of welcoming Ben Fuller, Goblin’s original owner, aboard at the 2022 Wooden Boat Show in Mystic CT. Such a pleasure to meet him and hear details related to Goblin’s design, construction, and history.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
