17' Pygmy Kayak (2014) - MURRELET

Pygmy Kayak Murrelet 2PD was my first build that started my journey and love for wooden boats. Pygmy Boats in Port Townsend allowed me to test paddle many of their designs until I found the perfect fit of me. The kit came with great instructions and their support team answered any questions that came up during the building process. My daughter help with all the stitching since her eyes could see all the small holes better than me. Even though it was a kit, it provided me the opportunity to gain some knowledge and skills that propelled me into my continuing wooden boat building journey. It was a very fun and rewarding experience building and the end result was amazing. This kayak has taken me many miles on the Puget sound and explored many lakes in Washington State.
