Owner’s Description
I built this replica yawl boat built for the scow schooner ALMA, owned by San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, when I worked in the Museum’s Small Boat Shop. I used lines provided by Baker Boat Works for a San Francisco scow schooner yawl boat. The boat is planked in Port Orford cedar over steam bent oak frames. Originally we planned to name the boat honoring Harry Dring, one of the founders of the museum, but he pointed out ALMA’s original owner had named the schooner after one of his daughters, but his other daughter was named OLGA. It was the perfect choice to name this dinghy.Already a member? Log in herePhotos
